VIEW FROM THE ABOVE
Geographically, Vijayawada has monumental decorations, and most of them are photo-realistic. The city circled by small and steep hillocks enclosing extensive plain lands upon which it looked like it’s in a hurry to spread in all habitable nooks and niches. River Krishna is the most fluent ornament and its seductive curves, cool innocuous waters never stop captivating me and so are my photographs arresting them.
On a Sunday morning, I drove to a mountaintop –Vijayakeeladri – the upcoming temple complex overlooking river Krishna.
I stared off into the distance, and it was a stunning landscape of the city merging into a mist at the horizon. The facade of the city looked like floating in the serpentine flow of the river Krishna. The plains, the hills, the bridges, and the growing urban structures I have to pause for a while to take in all in one eyeful.
Standing at the edge of the mountain, I cast my eyes right down towards the river and distance hills and allowed my eyes to roam freely to see the ploughed fields, railway tracks, and blocks of apartment structures coming up – many of them. It’s like everything seems in a rush to grab my attention vying at each other: to find a place in my camera – the colours of aesthetically appealing Vijayawada.
